Julia Barkley was born May 26, 1924 in Colome, SD to Sandy and Gertrude (Smalley) Graham, and died November 22, 2005. She married Dayton A. Barkley in March of 1943. She was an interior designer and artist and along with her husband owned and operated Dayton`s Furniture Store in Annandale from 1949-1978.
Julia was a member of St. Mark`s Corinna Episcopal Church, the Red Hat Society, and was a board member of Minnesota Pioneer Park.She was a former member of the Governor`s Residence Council, Annandale Housing and Redevelopment Authority, and lifetime member of Annandale Improvement Club.
